Calm & Composed is an immersive photography workshop that explores composition as being the foundation of visual storytelling. Designed for creators of all experience levels, this workshop invites participants to slow down, sharpen their observation, and discover how thoughtful composition can transform ordinary moments into meaningful images. Whether using a smartphone, point-and-shoot camera, or a DSLR, participants will learn that compelling photographs begin long before the shutter is pressed. Blending mindfulness, creativity, and hands-on practice, Calm & Composed moves beyond camera settings to focus on developing the artist's eye. Through guided discussions, interactive exercises, and real-world image making, participants gain a deeper understanding of how perspective, balance, framing, and intention shape the stories we tell while becoming part of a supportive community of artists committed to seeing the world with greater curiosity and purpose.

Who’s This Workshop For?: This workshop was designed in mind for:

- Beginner photographers

-  Intermediate photographers who want a refresher

- Content creators across all industries who want to learn how to take better pictures

- Beginner filmmakers who want to better understand camera angles and

how to communicate their visual needs to a crew for a project

- Those who simply want to to network + build community!

What Age Groups Can Participate?: This class is best suited for folks ages 12 and up.

What Makes This Workshop Different?:

This workshop goes beyond traditional photography education

by exploring the connection between visual storytelling, wellness, and mindful creativity. Rather than

focusing solely on camera settings or the “tech side of things”, the workshop invites participants to slow

down, connect with their bodies, sharpen their observation, and develop a more intentional relationship

with the way they see and create. Here, participants experience photography as both an artistic practice

and a pathway to greater presence through these 3 core workshop components:

Photo Composition Instruction: Learning The Art of Seeing

Mindful Movement: Preparing the Body to See

The Guided Photowalk: Putting Presence Into Practice

What will attendees gain, learn, or be able to do after attending the workshop?:

After attending Calm & Composed, participants will gain a stronger understanding of composition as a

foundation for visual storytelling and develop greater confidence in their ability to create intentional

images. They’ll leave with practical tools they can apply using any camera or device, a deeper

connection to their own creative voice, and a renewed ability to slow down and notice the world around

them. Beyond these skills, participants will also become part of a supportive community of visual artists

and storytellers, creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and continued creative growth.
